چکیده

In this work, a recoverable acrylamide-vinylamine copolymer immobilized TEMPO [P(AM-co-VAm)-T] catalyst for selective oxidation of cellulose with good catalytic performance and low degradation was developed. Firstly, the [P(AM-co-VAm)] prepared by Hofmann polyacrylamide (PAM). Then, condensation reduction reaction between amine groups P(AM-co-VAm) carbonyl 4-oxo-TEMPO yielded P(AM-co-VAm)-T. P(AM-co-VAm)-T used as C6 primary hydroxyl to carboxyl groups. The content obtained oxidized up 1.114 mmol/g, which equivalent 76% free level. This macromolecular easily recycled recycling excellent. Interestingly, it found that could effectively reduce cellulose. corresponding degree 21–27%, much lower than (61–66%) other catalysts, such polyacrylic acid immobilized-TEMPO (41–53%) polyamidoamine supported (28–44%). positive charge suitable size inhibit formation aldehydes C2/C3 ketones, main reason significantly degradation.

On the morphology of cellulose nanofibrils obtained by TEMPO-mediated oxidation and mechanical treatment.

The morphological properties of cellulose nanofibrils obtained from eucalyptus pulp fibres were assessed. Two samples were produced with the same chemical treatment (NaClO/NaBr/TEMPO (2,2,6,6-tetramethylpiperidine-1-oxyl radical) oxidation), but distinct mechanical treatment intensities during homogenization. It was shown that the nanofibrils production yield increases with the mechanical energ...

Synthesis, Characterisation and Flocculation Properties of Carboxymethyl Cellulose-g Acrylamide

Graft copolymers of acrylamide on carboxymethyl cellulose (d.s 0.4-0.5) were prepared by the use of ceric ion, ceric ion/reductant molecule initiator systems in aqueous medium. The graft copolymers were characterized by IR spectroscopy. The extent of graft copolymerisation was measured in terms of grafted chains as a function of both ceric ion and ceric ion/reductant molecule concentrations. It...

Electro-catalytic oxidation of cellulose at Au electrode

Cellulose is expected to have a key role in the sustainable society in the future. This natural polysaccharide can be used as alternative raw material to petrochemical products. Cellulose based functional materials can be modified to desired applications by changing their physicochemical properties. Chemical and/or biochemical reactions have so far been used to modify chemical groups on cellulo...

Catalytic Mechanism of Cellulose Degradation by a Cellobiohydrolase, CelS

The hydrolysis of cellulose is the bottleneck in cellulosic ethanol production. The cellobiohydrolase CelS from Clostridium thermocellum catalyzes the hydrolysis of cello-oligosaccharides via inversion of the anomeric carbon. Here, to examine key features of the CelS-catalyzed reaction, QM/MM (SCCDFTB/MM) simulations are performed. The calculated free energy profile for the reaction possesses a...

TEMPO/NaBr/NaClO-Mediated Surface Oxidation of Nanocrystalline Cellulose and Its Microparticulate Retention System with Cationic Polyacrylamide

TEMPO/NaBr/NaClO-mediated surface oxidation of NCC, acid-extracted from aspen kraft pulp, was studied, and the properties of nanocellulose whiskers before and after oxidation were characterized by conductimetry, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction, and atomic force microscopy. The resulting products with varied oxidation degrees were then applied in the deinked pulp to ev...
